The Guayaquil Port Terminal (TPG) celebrated its 19th anniversary, consolidating its position as a strategic pillar for the competitiveness of Ecuadorian foreign trade. Thanks to its modern infrastructure, operational efficiency, and strong commitment to sustainability, TPG has evolved to become a key player in the national and international logistics chain.
With five STS cranes and more than 2,000 refrigerated container connections, the terminal facilitates the continuous export of strategic products such as bananas, shrimp, tuna, cocoa, broccoli, and plantains to markets such as China, the United States, Chile, Argentina, and Italy. Its capacity to receive deep-draft vessels and the incorporation of advanced technologies position it as the main logistics partner for the world’s leading shipping companies.
In addition to boosting exports, TPG plays a fundamental role in the import of essential inputs and products for sectors such as commerce, the food industry, construction, chemicals, metallurgy, plastics, automotive, agriculture, livestock, and fishing.
Operational Innovation at the Service of Commerce
As part of its automation plan, TPG implemented a new operating system that allows for real-time planning and control of operations, improving traceability, reducing logistics times, and optimizing operating costs.
Commitment to Sustainability
TPG maintains an active environmental policy, focused on reducing its carbon footprint. The incorporation of four HRTG hybrid cranes has resulted in a 70% reduction in fuel consumption, reduced polluting emissions, and mitigated noise impact. These cranes operate with smart sensors that increase safety and efficiency in each operation.
In line with this commitment, the terminal was recently certified as a carbon-neutral organization, in accordance with ISO 14064-1:2018 and ISO 14068-1:2023 standards, through a process validated by SGS Ecuador, which included improvements in energy efficiency and emissions offsets through Certified Emission Reductions (CERs).
World-Class Security
As part of its strategy to ensure reliable operations, TPG incorporated three state-of-the-art scanners capable of non-intrusively inspecting 100% of export containers, thus strengthening security controls and confidence in its processes.
